Volunteers are key to the success of our program. In particular as PowerHockey Durham is a new program we are definitely looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals to join our organization. Here are some type of roles we are looking for assistance with:
Coach
Coaches inspire and encourage participants to be active, challenge themselves, and have fun. PowerHockey Durham and PowerHockey Canada have several resources to support coaches in developing participants and leading teams.
Referee
Referees are vital to ensuring the safety of everyone throughout games. Those familiar with ice hockey rules are typically able to transition to refereeing powerhockey with the right support in place.
Time & Score Keeper
Along with keeping score and managing the time throughout games, these individuals keep track of participant stats throughout the program. Doing so allows PowerHockey Durham to track player progress while also celebrating accomplishments.
Conveners
Conveners ensure everything is ready to go each week and help with a variety of tasks like helping participants get ready for games (e.g. helping with equipment such as attaching sticks).
Program Lead
Program Leads help with the day-to-day operations and organization of PowerHockey Durham, ensuring its ongoing success.
